LONELY HEARTS No. 7 COVER

From October 1969, Published by MAGNA COMICA.

"Summer of Forbidden Love"

Liz is has a problem. She loves two women!

Karen is a college student, who has a bit of meat on her bones, loves hot tea, books, and cuddling. She is a "live, and let live" kind of woman.

While, Raven is a wild hippy chick with a big Earth Momma Muff, and wants to bring down the MANNNNNNNNN! Raven wants sex of all kinds while dropping LSD, and toking on some Mary Jane.

Who will Liz choose?

Well you will never know because yet again, this is another strike at my non-nemesis the mysterious, and a wise...

Our goal this time was to create a Romance Comic Cover from the 1960's. So we did. I suggested the idea, and Antonio agreed. If you want to see some talent check him out. You won't be sorry.

Drawn on A5 paper, inked, then colored in GIMP.

LONELY HEARTS, MAGNA COMICA, Liz, Karen, Raven, all art, and story belong to :iconearthmanprime:

Haha, that might be the ending, but if I was her, I'd take the good girl that has a nice smile.

Me too, drugs usually lead to a short time most of time.

Really great to see someone paying homage to my favourite comics genre - nice one Larry! I don't know why but it's especially nice to see a gentleman drawing a romance cover. Though of course I wouldn't expect any less from you, seeing as you like your strong women 'n' all.

Awww, thank you so much. I like romance comics. They are a genre that need to make a come back, without some kind of twist, a straight up romance story. I do like my women strong, and I don't mind if a woman calls me out on my BS.

It's a shame good old-fashioned romance is out of style in the comics world. It's just as well there are independent people like you out there who aren't trend-followers.

I think I might actually try something like this. I just don't know if it would sell. I'd want women and men to read it, but be appealing to women. But I think the comics readers of today are so used to having a story, with a twist. Like, a War comic, that has zombies, stuff like that.

Sadly you are probably right that girly comics wouldn't sell like blood and guts do. But I like to think that any type of story can draw a reader in as long as the plot is strong. Autobiographical comics seems to be doing well and a lot from that ilk are about relationships and stuff but some of them can be pretty dreary and self-absorbed unfortunately.
