Muties

Well duh, Henry Peter Gyrich was pretty much created as what TVTropes terms a "hate sink", so of course he holds objectionable views. Funny thing is how he can still make a pretty valid point. While the statement that "fear of mutants and homophobia walk hand in hand" is a non-sequitur. It certainly is possible for mutants to be homophobes (indeed, shouldn't one assume that to be not unlikely when one considers how long Iceman stayed in the closet and in denial even though he has been living pretty much exclusively among mutants since his early teens) or for LGBTQ non-mutants to be mutiphobes. In that respect I have to wonder about Gyrich himself. I can remember no story where he was shown feeling romantic or sexual attraction to anyone, and it has been established canonically that he has no living family, so it is not impossible that he is gay himself, even though from his portrayal as a kind of bureaucratic automaton it may be more likely that he is asexual...
